Storyteller & Advocate

After having an existential crisis right before law school, Serena earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Full Sail University and now studies MA in Film & Philosophy at King's College London.

Chronically curious and cursedly passionate, Serena is a multidisciplinary writer and artist. They are driven by questions of identity and moral philosophy, particularly around neurodivergence, personhood, and disability.

Currently, they have two student short films, Echo, and Rosemary, beginning the festival rounds. Their script "Knot of My Own" was a finalist at the 2021 Atlanta Film Festival, drawing upon personal experiences of racism, and their pilot script "Deseret Nation" about the intersection of queerness and Mormon polygamy was presented at the 2022 Sunstone Symposium.

Serena's 2-year plan includes finishing a feature screenplay, releasing an EP, publishing a collection of stories and poetry, and resisting the temptation to do a Ph.D.
